I am a multi media artist, inspired by New Zealand's wonderful natural abundance, water, plant life, trees and skies. I present work in many different forms, including mixed media paintings, ceramic jewellery, digitally altered photography, and artwork with stylized motifs painted on recycled Pacific Island tapa cloths. I love to explore different techniques and styles, pushing boundaries, reflecting my thoughts and feelings. My work is mainly sold in Europe and Asia.
Pacific Journeys is a one off quirky series, using barkcloth, textured muslin combined with paper clay, factory and home made stamps, feathers and acrylic paints. The process is quite labor intensive as the little pieces are quite brittle and have to be put together like a jigsaw, bearing the Pacific and European influences in mind. The challenge is to create a comprehensive story out of many segments.
